In our last article, we discussed the systematics of our naming system within the HeBoSint® product family. Today we want to delve a little deeper into the PURE LINE.
As the name PURE LINE suggests, this line includes our chemically pure boron nitride ceramics. Specifically, we are talking about the materials HeBoSint® PL 100, HeBoSint® PL 200 and HeBoSint® PL 600. If you would like to familiarise yourself with the naming again, you can find our article on the subject at the following link: https://www.henze-bnp.de/focused/von-der-idee-zur-identitaet-wie-der-name-hebosint-
Boron nitride ceramics: The properties in detail
In general, boron nitride ceramics can be described by the following properties:
As these characteristics vary greatly depending on the composition of the boron nitride ceramic, we have grouped the different characteristics into the PURE LINE, CLASSIC LINE and STRONG LINE.
Let's dive in: The purity and thermal resistance of HeBoSint® PURE LINE
The chemical purity directly determines the thermal resistance of a boron nitride ceramic. A temperature resistance of over 1800 °C can only be achieved with the highest degree of purity and a high boron nitride content. Our PURE LINE products have a purity of over 99% and are therefore ideally suited for high-temperature applications.
Thanks to the high boron nitride content, components made from this ceramic have very good thermal conductivity, low thermal expansion, excellent thermal shock resistance with simultaneous electrical insulation and very good release and lubrication properties.
Convincing benefits: the advantages of HeBoSint® PURE LINE
The low thermal expansion of boron nitride ceramics guarantees dimensional stability of the material even at high temperatures. The excellent thermal shock resistance ensures that PURE LINE remains stable even with abrupt temperature changes, e.g. when molten metal hits it, and no cracks or fissures are to be expected. The high electrical resistance and excellent dielectric strength make the material the insulation material of choice in high-temperature furnace construction.
Thanks to our special finishing processes, unwanted boron oxide is reduced to a minimum. This protects graphite heaters, for example, and thus serves to maintain the service life of crucial components in furnace construction.
HeBoSint® PURE LINE: Successful applications in various branches of industry
These unrivalled properties make the PURE LINE the boron nitride ceramic of choice for applications such as high-temperature furnace construction, use in plasma systems or in foundry technology.
Whether as components for electric high-temperature furnaces, insulators for plasma jet furnaces / ion thrusters and PVD-ARC systems, mechanical components / tubes and nozzles for liquid metal, protective tubes and insulating sleeves for thermocouples, sensor components for liquid metals and gases, as well as crucibles for metal evaporation, Components for metal and glass melting and glass processing, holders, mounting plates, substrates or components for thermal management, for casting precious metals, dental melts and special alloys, the PURE LINE offers the appropriate ceramics and is predestined for applications under vacuum or inert gas.
Material in its purest form: Henze, the expert for HeBoSint® PURE LINE
For more than 30 years now, we have been the first point of contact for leading furnace manufacturers, manufacturers of plasma systems and foundry technology companies for pure boron nitride ceramics. As we also manufacture individual parts and small series, numerous universities and research institutes are also among our customers. We draw our expertise from the wide range of industries and applications with individual requirements, which makes us the ideal partner.
