Henze BNP supplies customers from over 30 industries with products made of hexagonal boron nitride. The desire to expand their own value chain and press sintered components internally emerged years ago. As customer inquiries exceeded the materials available on the market, Henze BNP finally decided to turn their vision into action. The declared aim: The acquisition of a hot press for sintering own boron nitride components along with the extension of production, laboratory and administration facilities.
No sooner said than done? Unfortunately, it was not that quite that simple.
Between planning and completion three years passed by. During this time, Henze BNP defined processes, designed molds and developed formulas with pilot customers und industry partners. Today, Henze BNP is able to press these formulas on a large scale with the new hot press. The company is thereby expanding its portfolio to include materials that are, in this form, not yet available on the market and is opening up new markets with its own materials.
Since the groundbreaking ceremony in fall of 2021, a new production hall approx. 900 square meters has been built next to the existing building in just over a year. The new hall was extended with the addition of a second storey to create space for a larger laboratory as well as office and meeting rooms. The company also invested in automation and technical equipment.
An ecological and environmentally friendly approach during construction was particularly important to Henze BNP. The new building was therefore constructed sustainably using wood and the roof was equipped with a PV system. The company takes great pride in its energy recovery concept, which was designed around the hot press. This concept allows the energy created by the hot press to be reused.
What began years ago as a vision has now become reality. With the delivery of the hotpress and the completion of the building at the end of 2022, Henze BNP is taking a step into a new future. As a result of this investment, the management emphasizes their commitment to the production site in Lauben and looks positively ahead together with the team.
