Precision at high temperatures
In hot forming, metals are shaped into forms—some of which are highly complex—at high temperatures. Among the most demanding applications are those in the automotive industry, the aluminum and metal industries, and the glass industry. In these sectors, thermal stress, pressure, or tensile forces act directly on the tool surface, creating numerous challenges.
Boron nitride is used as an excellent lubricant and release agent, even at high temperatures, as a low-friction boron nitride coating, or as a powder for dry lubrication.
In addition, sintered boron nitride is becoming an increasingly important material. Henze BNP manufactures high-precision, self-lubricating, and non-stick tools and equipment components from sintered materials for metal and glass forming processes. Typical components include mold inserts, as well as contact, sliding, and guide elements.
