The Path to a Public Good Balance Sheet
The Public Good Report and the certification statement together constitute the Public Good Balance Sheet. The Public Good Balance Sheet is an ethical balance sheet designed to measure a company’s contribution to the public good.
The first step is to prepare the Public Good Report in the form of a comprehensive document that reflects the company’s efforts across 20 public good topics. Following the external evaluation, a matrix showing the score achieved is generated.
The Public Good Matrix
The Public Good Matrix identifies the topics to be assessed. It also reflects the thematic areas of the Public Good Report.
Rating
At the conclusion of the external assessment conducted by an external auditor, scores are assigned for each section of the Public Good Matrix. The baseline of 0 points represents the industry average. If a company acts in a manner detrimental to the public good, it falls into the negative score range. The maximum score of 1,000 points represents outstanding performance in the field of the Economy for the Common Good.
