Girls´ Day 2026 at Henze BNP
Henze BNP took part in the Girls’ Day 2026 initiative. Under the slogan “Team spirit meets high-tech: Your Girls’ Day full of opportunities”, five young girls spent an exciting day at Henze BNP on 23 April. In doing so, our company is making an important contribution to greater equality of opportunity in education and the workplace, stereotype-free career guidance, and a sustainable, discrimination-sensitive society. This supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Girls’ Day 2026 – A day full of opportunities
The participants were given the opportunity to spend a whole day at our company and get a taste of what it’s like to work as a machinist. Following a presentation about the company and a tour of the premises, the five girls were given a fascinating insight into our hot press. Dominik Zug, Head of Development, provided a clear explanation of the entire manufacturing process.
After the theoretical part and a group lunch, it was time to get down to business! The girls were given the chance to try their hand at the work themselves: they cut laboratory samples from boron nitride ceramic and machined plastic blanks on a lathe before further processing them on the milling machine. They then tested the flexural strength of their workpieces (lab samples) independently and under expert supervision in the laboratory. This allowed the participants to experience the role of a machinist first-hand.
Afterwards, Annika (a former apprentice) and Bernhard (training supervisor in the machining department) took the time to provide further insights into the role of a machining technician and to answer any questions.
We are happy to be a part of this wonderful initiative and to actively support the goals of gender equality and reducing inequality.
For the girls and for Henze BNP alike, Girls’ Day 2026 was a day full of fascinating insights, new perspectives and a valuable exchange for everyone involved!
